8 (1861) on an entire letter from Mexico to Puebla.  The stamp was previously used as it bears a Puebla district name and a portion of the CIUDAD DE MATAMOROS cancel.  The stmap is tied by the Mexico Diligencias (stagecoach) cancel.  The stamp also show a reentry doubling the bottom ornaments.  A scare postal fraud.  $75.  PHOTO

OFFICIAL

Official 1917 stampless registered envelope from the National Treasury to and Oil Company in Houston.The cover is ratty with pieces missing but at least some of this damage happened in transit as the reverse has 2 official seals to reclose the envelope.  March 7, 1917 mailing, and March 12 receving ccl. Interesting item, looks like it could have gone through the Mexican Revolution.  $20  SCAN  SCAN2
